I was born in Hopkins County KY and grew up on a farm there.  It was always a dream of mine of becoming a veterinarian.  I earned my BS from Western Kentucky University in 1964.  I married Marilyn Strayn in 1966.  We have 2 sons and 4 grandchildren.  I attended Auburn University  School of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 1968.  My practice was located in Madisonville Kentucky, where I practiced till my retirement in 2014.  Full-time retirement was not for me because I Love veterinary medicine and continually learning.  Marilyn and I moved to Bowling Green soon after retiring and I do relief work for area veterinarians and work 2 days a week at Logan County Animal Clinic.  Gardening and teaching gardening is a passion of mine.  I received my Master Gardeners certificate from UK in 2017 and I love spreading my joy of gardening with children and young adults in my neighborhood.  I am also very involved with my church and am involved with missionary work within KY.  Emma Grace is our 4-legged daughter.  She is a 2 year old Shih Tzu that rules the house.
